Kathmandu : South Asia Tourism Federation has been established to promote travel and tourism between South Asian countries.
A joint meeting of travel professionals representing different countries of South Asia held in Dhaka on May 22 decided to form South Asian Tourism Federation . Travel personalities from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Bhutan attended Dhaka meeting.
HM Hakim Ali, President of Bangladesh International Hotel Association, has been elected chairman of its interim board. President of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents DB Limbu has been elected second vice-president .
Similarly, executive director of Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators Sonam Dorji and secretary general of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Bhutan Sangeeta Rana have been elected secretary general and treasurer respectively.
