• APECF signs MoU for Lumbini development

    Kathmandu : Asia Pacific Exchange Cooperation Foundation (APECF) , the international non-government organization (INGO ) based in Beijing , signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lumbini Development Steering Committee (LDSC) for the development and preservation of all aspects of ´Greater Lumbini´on Nov .7.

    Executive Vice Chairman of APECF Linus Xiao Wunan and co-chairman of the LDSC Puspa Kamal Dahal signed the agreement targeting to invest more than US$ 3 billion to develop Lumbini as an international peace city.” The main aim of the project is to develop Lumbini,” Wunan said .

    Asia Pacific Exchange & Cooperation Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by dignitaries, scholars, social activists, internationally influential enterprises, and research institutes within the Asia-Pacific region.

    With worldwide participation, the foundation engages in extensive and constructive communication and cooperation with many governmental and nongovernmental organizations in the region.

    The co-chairmen of the Foundation are – Leon H. Charney ( Former Special Envoy of Middle East Affairs under the American President and Chairman of the Board of the University of Haifa, Israel), Colin Heseltine,(Former Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat ) ,Prachanda ( Former Prime Minister in Nepal), Jack Rosen (President of the American Jewish Congress ), Sir Tan Sri Tiong Hiew King (Executive Chairman of the Rimbunan Hijau Group), Korn Dabbaransi (Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand),Kenneth David Kaunda (Former President of Zambia),Steven Clark Rockefeller, Jr.(Chairman of the Board of the Rockefeller Group),and Dr.Ramzi Sanbar(Chairman of the SDC Group) . Xiao Wunan is the Executive Vice Chairman of the Foundation according to apecf.org.
