Asian Mountain Racing Challenge held in Guizhou China, Sunuwar declared champion

Kathmandu: The first Asian Mountain Racing Challenge, “Sands of ancient glass,” 2015 with the theme of “run the race to build eco-Asian mountain big health” took place in Jinsha County of Guizhou Province , China recently.
More than 30 teams from South Korea, Japan, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and mainland and other countries and regions, more than 300 athletes, coaches and referees and 20 provinces and cities participated in the competition.
The competition was organized by the State Sports General Administration of Mountaineering Management Center, Chinese Mountaineering Association, Guizhou Provincial Sports Bureau, Bijie City People’s Government, Jinsha County People’s Government of Guizhou Province Mountaineering Association, Bijie City Style Press and Publication Bureau and Bijie City Tourism Contractors, Jinsha County Style broadcasting Tourism Bureau.
Deputy Director of the State Sports General Administration of Mountaineering Management Center, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Mountaineering Association, and other government officials from China attended the opening ceremony on Sept.19.
President of Nepal Mountaineering Association Ang Tshering Sherpa participated in the event as the Guest of Honor.
Bed Bahadur Sunuwar from Nepal won the championship at Male Single’s race (52.3 km) by completing the race in 4 hours 44 minutes.
