• Briana wins competition , trek to Nepal

    April 16, 2014

Sydney : Sydney travel agent, Briana Nelson-Young, is the lucky winner of the recent World Expeditions agent competition.

The competition gave entrants the chance to win one of five Nepal trekking experiences, to encourage agents to improve their product knowledge and reward them for their support of World Expeditions.

The Neutral Bay Flight Centre agent will get the opportunity to fly with her boyfriend to Kathmandu, and trek through Nepal on the World Expeditions ‘Around Dhaulagiri via French Pass Nepal trekking adventure.’ Brianna has never been to Nepal or trekked before, making the win even sweeter.

“I’ve wanted to go to Nepal for a long time and have spent a lot of time researching it,” said Brianna. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the ancient and vastly untouched Hindu/Buddhist culture of Nepal contrasted with some of the most incredible and extreme terrain in the world.”

The competition was tough, and World Expeditions marketing manager, Sarah Hunt, says Brianna was selected for demonstrating a thoughtful, knowledgeable answer that revealed an impressive understanding of World Expeditions’ trekking destinations and unique differences.

“Overall, the responses revealed that travel agents have a good appreciation of the merits of a Nepal adventure and that Annapurna is not far behind the Everest region as a wish-list destination,” she said.

Briana is a newcomer to the organised, small group travel, but has discovered a new appreciation for it after returning from her first organised tour through Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

“I understand how you see and learn more than you do as an independent traveller and that you’re much more efficient with your time with all the logistics taken care of,” she said. – travelweekly.com.au ( April 13, 2014 )
