BRICS Tourism Ministers commit to work for recovery development of tourism sector

The 2022 BRICS Tourism Ministers Meeting concluded recently in Guilin, Guangxi province of China .
Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, in his key note address , said that the BRICS countries represent the fastest growing and most dynamic emerging markets and developing countries in the world today.
“The BRICS countries are rich in tourism resources and occupy an important position in the world tourism pattern.These countries should work together, take risks and meet challenges together, implement the spirit of the 14th BRICS Leaders’ Meeting with practical actions, and accelerate the promotion of the BRICS countries. and the recovery of world tourism,” he added.
Hu Heping put forward five proposals to promote the recovery and development of the tourism industry , and jointly explore a feasible way for the recovery and development of tourism .
Carlos Brito, Minister of Tourism of Brazil, Zarina Doguzova, Director of the Russian Tourism Agency, Jishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism of India, and Lindiwe Sisulu, Minister of Tourism of South Africa, attended the meeting by video on September 19.
The meeting held in-depth exchanges and discussions on the theme of “green growth, sustainable development and resilient recovery”, according to a statement by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.
The ministers of the participating countries affirmed the achievements of BRICS tourism cooperation in recent years, reached consensus on the urgency of tourism recovery and the importance of increasing the number of tourists Inclusive tourism.
The meeting also adopted the Communiqué of the 2022 BRICS Tourism Ministers Meeting.
The BRICS alliance consists of Brazil ,China ,India , Russia and South Africa – five major emerging economies with over three billion people that account for over 40 percent of the world’s population and just over a quarter of the global GDP.
