China : 4.9 million visa-free entries by foreigners recorded in Q3

Foreigners made a total of 8.186 million entries into China through various ports in the third quarter this year, marking an increase of 48.8% year-on-year, among which 4.885 million entries were made visa-free, representing a year-on-year rise of 78.6%.
According to a spokesperson of the National Immigration Administration (NIA) on October 18, it was revealed that NIA plans to continuously optimize and enhance its visa-free transit policies and other relevant policies, with a focus on expanding areas for entry and travel, increasing the number of regions collaboratively implementing the relevant policies, and improving the overall framework for openness.
It aims to further enhance the value and attractiveness of the relevant policies and work collaboratively with the relevant authorities to offer more convenience for foreigners who need to travel to and within China.
Similarly , immigration administration authorities in China inspected a total of 160 million entries and exits by individuals, marking a year-on-year rise of 30.1% in Q3 of this year. These included 78.545 trips made by residents of the Chinese mainland, 64.694 million by residents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and 16.461 million by foreign nationals.
In addition, a total of 8.429 million entries and exits of transportation vehicles were inspected, marking a year-on-year growth of 31.1%. These encompassed 236,000 flights, 26,000 train trips, 111,000 ship voyages, and 8.056 million trips by motor vehicles, according to National Immigration Administration of China.
China continued to deepen reforms in immigration management services and innovate policies and systems, significantly enhancing the quality of immigration-related government services and fully contributing to the high-level openness and high-quality development. The regional visa-free entry and transit policies have been constantly improved.
