    China : More than 38 thousand national travel agencies involved in tourism sector

    More than 38 thousand national travel agencies are involved in inbound, domestic and outbound tourism activities in China.

    According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Report on National Travel Agency Statistics in the third quarter of 2019 published recently in Beijing, the total number of national travel agencies operating till the third quarter of 2019 was 38,433.

    In the third quarter of 2019, there were 29.058 million outbound travels by national travel agencies and 15.619 million person-days .

    The top ten destination countries or regions of outbound visits by travel agencies are Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, South Korea, Japan, Russia, the United States, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.

    The top ten destination countries or regions of inbound tourist reception for travel agencies were Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Macao, the United States, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand, according to the report.

    Similarly, the top ten areas of travel agency domestic travel organization rankings were Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Shandong, Hubei, Hunan, Fujian, Shanghai, and Sichuan.

    The top ten regions in terms of domestic travel receptions of travel agencies were Zhejiang, Hubei, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Hunan, Yunnan, Fujian, Shandong, Anhui, and Chongqing.  

    Similarly, there were 17.5858 million outbound travels organized by national travel agencies and 89.889 million person-days In the third quarter of 2019.

    The top ten destination countries or regions in terms of travel agency outbound travel organizations were Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, and Indonesia, according to the MCT report.
