Kathmandu : China has declared the year 2018 as “Beautiful China-Year of Integrated Tourism”.

The slogans are “New Era, New Tourism, New Achievements”; “Region-based Tourism, Brand New Pursuit” according to an information issued by China National Tourism Administration (CNTA).

The year 2017 was declared as “Beautiful China – 2017 Year of Silk Road Tourism” to promote silk road tourism around the world.

All regions in China have launched tourism publicity events under the general theme of “Beautiful China” with different annual themes regularly since 2013.

‘ These events have achieved important results. To implement the principles of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, develop a “Beautiful China”, promote the balanced, full and sustainable development of tourism market and fulfill the tourists’ pursuit of happy life, the CNTA set “Year of Region-based Tourism” as this year’s topic,’ CNTA says.

The CNTA has urged  all the localities to complete the four tasks under the topic of “Beautiful China-2018 Year of Region-based Tourism”.

These responsibilities are to  raise the awareness and design good activities ; enrich tourism products and routes according to market demand ; raise the publicity effect by integrating different resources and   develop inbound tourism with several priorities .

Localities need to design good activities for all types of tourism markets, enhance brand development and value real results, in order to promote the balanced, full and sustainable development of tourism market according to CNTA guidelines.

Second, localities need to provide featured tourism products and improve tourism service quality on the basis of local resources and customer market structure, in order to meet the diverse demand of domestic and overseas tourists.

Third ,localities need to continue to motivate and coordinate all types of publicity platforms, including professional institutions and media, and take full use of publicity alliance, in order to improve the effect of publicity.

Fourth, localities need to summarize their experience in tourism publicity and take advantage of “Beautiful China” image to improve the international influence and attraction of Chinese tourism destinations according to CNTA guidelines.

Similarly ,China has been going through a “toilet revolution” that aims to build or renovate thousands of public restrooms nationwide to boost and promote tourism.

China announced plans to build and upgrade 64,000 public toilets between 2018 to 2020 as part of its toilet revolution aimed at boosting tourism and lifting the sector’s contribution to economic growth in mid-November last year.

More than 47,000 restrooms will be built and 17,000 existing ones refurbished in the next three years at tourist spots in cities and rural areas under the new initiative to promote tourism. Inputs : CNTA
