China Xi’an to host Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2014

Xian , capital city of Shaanxi Province of China, will host China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2014 on September 19 – 21 at Xi’an Qujiang International Conference and Exhibition Center, China. China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2014 ( CXSRITE 2014 ) is China’s first international tourism event with a unique theme “Silk Road”.
According to the organizers of the Expo , China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2014 will cover the total exhibition area of 20,000 square metres.
More than 500 exhibitors from China and international exhibitors from 30 countries, 4,000 trade visitors and 30, 000 public visitors will participate in the international expo.

China’s President Mr Xi Jingping, a native of Shaanxi, proposed building a new “Silk Road Economic Belt” during his official visit to Kazakhstan in September 2013. The main objectives of the new initiative are to connect China with countries along the ancient Silk Road and other regions to create new activities and programmes for greater economic development and social prosperity for all.
In line with President Xi’s proposal, the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Administration and Xian Tourism Administration are organizing the first China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo in cooperation with Conference and Exhibition Management Services and CEMS (Beijing ) Conference and Exhibition Co.
Xian is popular as the hometown of Terracotta Warriors and the origin of the Silk Road since centuries. The world famous ancient Silk Road originated there connecting central Asia and the west .
Xi’an, previously known as Chang’an, is one of the four ancient civilized capitals of the world. During the past 5,000 years, 14 dynasties established their capitals here, lasting over 1,200 years, including the most influential dynasties Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang in Chinese history.
According to Xian Tourism Administration, Xian region attracted a total of 3.5266 million inbound tourists with tourism foreign exchange earnings of $1.676 billion in 2013. The Expo aims to promote travel and tourism between China and the world.
