• Cornell Pillsbury Institute- new advisory board members

    NY- The Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship recently welcomed four new hospitality industry leaders to its advisory board. In this role, they will help shape the entrepreneurship curriculum at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration (SHA) and support entrepreneurial students through such programs as the Hospitality Business Plan Competition, Entrepreneurs in Residence, and internships.

    Kenneth Hamlet is a senior advisor at Crestview. He currently is the co-managing member of Monalex Partners, LLC. Hamlet has a wide spectrum of executive experience, notably his tenure as president and CEO of Holiday Inns Inc. Hotel Group. After the sale of Holiday Inns, Inc., Hamlet founded and became chairman and CEO of Hamlet Holdings LLC, which held interests in a diverse set of industries, including real estate development, manufacturing, services, retail, investment banking, agriculture, and computer-based entertainment in hotel rooms. Hamlet has also served in a variety of leadership roles of not-for-profit organizations.

    Christopher Hemmeter, managing director of Quest Hospitality Ventures, has spent his entire professional life in the hotel, foodservice, and technology industries and has held many leadership positions in strategy, development, operations, and finance. During more than 20 years of enterprise development, financing, and operations experience, Hemmeter has founded six companies. He serves as chairman of iCare Marketing, an exclusive partner of SYSCO Foodservice Corporation, and was founder and CEO of Dynamic Payment Ventures. Hemmeter received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Cornell and his graduate degree from Harvard Business School.

    Tim Hentschel, CEO of HotelPlanner.com, co-founded the company in 2002. Since then, HotelPlanner.com has achieved a global portfolio of 50K hotels. The company focuses its efforts on the group market and custom travel programs to help clients select the right property for their event, combining technology with a highly experienced staff of professional meeting planners to deliver outstanding service. The company recently opened its European headquarters in London and is rapidly expanding its team of experienced meeting planners globally.
