Earthquake panic in Nepal, death toll crosses 8,485

Kathmandu: The death toll in a new powerful 7.3 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on May 12 has reached 136..The earthquake with its epicenter between Sindhupalchok and Dolakha district has injured more than 2,956 people affecting 32 districts of the country.
The second quake was followed closely by several strong aftershocks according to the US Geological Survey so far.
The powerful quake caused a landslide near Dhunche in Langtang area , one of the popular trekking route of Nepal.A large number of trekkers , guides and local people are still missing in the Langtang area after avalanche of April 25 earthquake.The dead bodies of 128 national and foreigners ,swept away by the avalanche after the devastating earthquake,have been recovered so far.
Rescue work has resumed to find the victims and survivors of the latest deadly earthquake to hit Nepal.The powerful quake claimed at least 17 people in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh states of India. The main quake was felt as far away as northern India, Tibet and Bangladesh.
The death toll of deadly earthquake of April 25 , 2015 has already crossed 8,349 and 17,870 injured so far affecting 14 districts of the Himalayan country.A total of 252 Nepalis and110 foreigners are missing after the quake.
The fresh earthquake in Nepal triggered landslides in Syanja and Dhunche area.Hundreds of houses collapsed in Dolakha and Sindhupalchowk districts .
Meanwhile , the wreckage of a U.S. military helicopter lost on an earthquake relief mission in Nepal was found on Friday high on a mountainside, with all eight on board presumed dead. Crash debris was found 13 km)north of the town of Charikot near dense forest and rugged terrain.
