French Cyclist Jorda promotes Great Himalayan Trail

Kathmandu: Jean-Michel Jorda of France and Khumbila Voyage of Nepal plan to start new adventure sports including cycling on the Great Himalayan Trail.
French mountain biker and producer of documentary films on adventure Jean-Michel Jorda recently completed cycling trip of Great Himalaya Trail (GHT) in Nepal.
The Great Himalaya Trail, one of the longest and highest walking trails in the world, passes through high mountains, green valleys, high plateaus and incredible landscapes stretching over a distance of about 1,700 km.
At a press meet organized by Khumbila Voyage, Jean-Michel Jorda highlighted on his cycling adventure on different parts of the trail. He said: ‘ Nepal’s Great Himalaya Trail is one of the true adventures on earth. Cycling Himalaya with cycle and mountain specialist should be a great opportunity for tourism in Nepal.”
Jorda completed the trek recently after cycling Kanchenjunga and Makalu Barun sections of the GHT.He has explored Nepal by cycling to Everest region, Upper Dolpo and other parts of Himalayan region since 2006 . He travelled 2,500 kilometres trekking trail of GHT in the last eight years.
Consul at the Embassy of France in Nepal Ms.Mireille Borne opined that Jorda’s adventures in Nepal will allure a large number of French tourists to visit Nepal.
” Adventure lover Jean-Michel Jorda has contributed a lot to promote Nepal in France and is committed to promote Cycling Great Himalayan Trail as a new tourism product in the world ,” Zimba Zangbu Sherpa , Managing Director of Khumbi-La Voyage said.
Khumbi-La Voyage and Jorda have joined hands to promote cycling trips in GHT and promote Nepal as an ideal destination for mountain bikers.
