    Guragain elected President of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents

    Kathmandu: The 53nd Annual General Meeting of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has elected a new executive committee with Achyut Guragain as the President for two years.

    Guragain was elected with a total of 150 votes. His nearest contender Bhim Prasad Pant got 126 votes and Mihika Shah Dhakhwa got 109 votes. A total of 405 NATTA members cast votes in the election for the new leadership.

    According to the Economic Survey Report (2018 / 2019) of Nepal Government, more than 3,508 travel agencies and 2649 trekking agencies are registered in the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

    NATTA elected Binaya Basnet as senior vice President, Ramesh Thapa as vice president, Sudhir Kumar Upadhyaya as General Secretary, Jiswa Tuladhar Shrestha as Secretary, Kumar mani Thapaliya as Treasurer and Yubica Bhandari as Joint Treasurer.

    Travel entrepreneurs Laxmi Karki Adhikari, Geeta Dhakal , Subarna Shrestha , Hari Kumar Shrestha , Bishnu Karki , Dendi Sherpa , Raj Kumar Devkota ,and Bharat Jung Pandey are elected  members in the new executive committee.

    Newly elected President Guragain has committed to work for tourism development of the country. Guragain , Managing Director of Sea and Sky Tours and Travels , has already served as the Senior Vice President and General Secretary of the NATTA.

    NATTA was established in 1966 by a group of leading travel professionals to work together to protect the professional interests of travel trade business, to promote tourism development and safeguard the travelling public from exploitation by unreliable agents.
