Himalaya Airlines extends its network to Chongqing , China

Kathmandu – Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China joint venture airline, launched its service to a popular Chinese city Chongqing today (January 23, 2020).
Himalaya Airlines operates direct flights from Katmandu to Beijing, Guiyang, Changsha, Shenzhen and Chongqing. HA will operate weekly three flights to Chongqing.
Inaugurating the flight to Chongqing, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai said that China-Nepal connectivity is important to promote tourism between the two countries. Nepal Airlines is also set to operate direct flight to Chinese cities in near future, he added.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi highly evaluated the continuous efforts of route expansion to the popular Chinese cities.
On the occasion, President of Himalaya Airlines Zhou Enyong said that the launching of Kathmandu – Chongqing flight will attract more Chinese tourists to visit Nepal.
Chongqing is the largest municipality in southwest China. It is a modern port city on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. With an area of 82,300 square kilometers, Chongqing shares borders with provinces of Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, Sichuan, and Shaanxi.
As China’s fourth municipality after Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin, Chongqing has maintained rapid economic development while preserving a wonderful natural environment.
Known as the ‘Mountain City’, it has a wavy terrain and encompasses a wealth of water reserves, mineral resources, dense forests, and abundant flora and fauna.
