Himalayan Rescue Association elects new leadership , Bhatta new chairman

Kathmandu: Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) has elected new executive committee under the leadership of Narendra Deo Bhatta.
Basant Hamal, Prithvi Shrestha and Shreeram Khatri have been elected vice-chairman,general secretary and treasurer respectively.
Similarly, Bikram Neupane, Sitaram Sapkota ,Dambar Parajuli ,Thukten Sherpa , , Parshuram Karki , Jagatman Lama and Ganesh Neupane are elected executive members in the new leadership of HRA.
Newly elected Chairman Narendra Bhatta is involved in the travel business since more than four decades .He is Managing Director of Heritage Travels and Tours at present.
Outgoing Chairman D.B.Koirala hoped that the new executive committee will move forward to strengthen rescue activities in the mountain regions of the country.
Himalayan Rescue Association, established in 1973 as a nonprofit non- governmental organization, has been operating medical aid-posts in Manang , Pheriche and Everest Base Camp to provide better medical service and rescue assistance to the foreign trekkers and Nepali people .
HRA organizes a temporary health camp at Gosainkunda, a famous pilgrimage site situated at an altitude of 4380m, during Janaipurnima festival every year to help the people suffering from acute mountain sickness ,high altitude cerebral and pulmonary edema .
Hundreds of foreign medical doctors have contributed the HRA as volunteers in the last four decades and saved life of the people to from acute mountain sickness and other high altitude problems in the mountain region of Nepal.
