Hong Kong launches promotional campaigns to woo tourists including 500,000 free air tickets

Hong Kong has implemented different promotional campaigns to attract tourists back to the financial city of the world .
Hong Kong has removed its strict travel restrictions in recent months, including mandatory testing , isolation on arrival and mandatory mask.
With the launch of the global promotional campaign “Hello Hong Kong” recently, Hong Kong is sending its greatest welcome to the world with 500,000 free air tickets, as well as city-wide offers covering “Hong Kong Goodies” visitor consumption vouchers, to entice travellers to come to experience Hong Kong’s diverse appeals.
The “Hello Hong Kong” promotional campaign is being rolled out worldwide to send the positive message that Hong Kong is back with signature and new exciting experiences awaiting visitors, in light of the lifting of all entry restrictions to Hong Kong.
The campaign includes a series of vibrant promotional contents, which will be broadcast on 3,000 platforms worldwide, according to a statement issued by Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB).
A total of 500,000 free tickets will be given away by the Airport Authority Hong Kong to different markets in phases, through three home-based carriers namely Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong Express and Hong Kong Airlines, starting from March.
Hong Kong will host a year-round calendar of more than 250 events and festivals across 2023. Hong Kong has more than 100 international MICE events planned for 2023, providing excellent platforms for different sectors to seize business opportunities.
Hong Kong’s Chief Executive John Lee launched the $2 billion ‘Hello Hong Kong’ campaign on 1 February , with the flight ticket giveaway starting on 1 March.
Hong Kong welcomed 56 million visitors in 2019 – over seven times its population – before the COVID pandemic began. But its strict COVID restrictions have kept visitors away over the past three years, devastating the tourism sector and its economy.
