Hunan International Tourism Festival 2013 to take place in Changsha,China

Hunan International Tourism Festival 2013 is expected to attract a large number of inbound and outbound tourists to visit Changsha and other areas of Hunan Province.
The Hunan International Tourism Festival 2013 to be held in the capital city of Changsha on September 12-13 aims to develop and expand economic and tourism relations with other parts of the world.
According to the organizers of the festival, the opening ceremony of 2013 Hunan International Tourism Festival is scheduled to be held at Meixi Lake International New Town, Changsha on September 12.
The festival is being co-hosted by Hunan Tourism Bureau and Changsha Municipal People’s Government and organized by the administrative committee of Changsha Pioneering District and Changsha Tourism Bureau.
Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, is hosting the international festival for the fifth time.
Themed “Splendid Hunan and Happy Changsha”, the festival will consist of following activities–Blossom Hunan, Happy Changsha, Colorful World, and a float parade.
The opening ceremony is planned as an interactive parade along Meixi Lake in one main venue and four sub-venues.During the festival, a series of activities will be held, including Meixi Lake International Culture and Arts Week and 2013 Orange Isle Music Festival.
Hundreds of travel professionals from China and abroad will participate in the festival.
Hunan Province is in the north to the Yangtze River, and in the south to Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao, and bordered with Hubei, Guangxi, Guizhou, Jiangxi and Chongqing.
With its population of 69.25 million people, covering the area of 211, 800 square kilometers, governing 13 cities and one autonomous prefecture and 122 counties (cities and regions) in total, Hunan is developing fast like other parts of China.
Zhangjiajie is a world class destination with strange peaks, beautiful scenic spots and cliffs and is incorporated in the World Natural Heritage Site.
As the birthplace of Mao Zedong, founder of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Hunan province has contributed to the founding and growth of China.
According to official guide of Hunan government, the center of Hunan comprises hills and basins, and the north is composed of plains. The capital city Changsha is one of the 24 historically and culturally renowned cities of China.
Changsha is rich in beautiful natural scenery including national forest parks, such as Dawei Mountain, and key national scenic spots, such as Yuelu Mountain and Juzi Island.
The government of Changsha plans to develop the city into an internationally renowned tourist destination by 2020, Xinhua reports.
More than 1 million tourists from more than 80 countries and regions around the world visited Changsha in 2012.
According to the government report of Hunan, there are 481 tourism projects under construction in Hunan, with a total investment of 358.7 billion Yuan.
Eighteen international top enterprises, such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and Marriott International, Inc., set up their branches in Hunan in recent years.
Hunan has set its goal of realizing tourism revenue of 263.6 billion Yuan in 2013. It will strive to receive 2.47 million inbound tourists with tourism revenue of 1.02 billion USD, and 358 million domestic tourists, the report states.
