    Hunan to start Changsha – Kathmandu direct flight  soon, Hunan Culture and Tourism Week in Nepal

    Kathmandu: Tourism personalities of Hunan Province of China have stressed on strengthening tourism cooperation between Nepal and Hunan, China.

    Addressing the function themed “Splendid Hunan Ultimate Experience 2019- Hunan Culture and Tourism Week in Nepal” here today, Deputy Director of Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism Chen Yuanping urged the Nepali travel professionals to explore ways to strengthen cooperation between China and Nepal.

    He highlighted on most popular tourism products of Hunan Province of China. 

    Deputy Chief of Mission of Chinese Embassy in Nepal Yang Shichao, said that China is one of the top tourist destinations in the world due to three elements – natural beauty, travel convenience and safety.

    “As Nepal is favorable destination for Chinese tourists, Chinese tourist arrival is increasing in recent years. We hope that more Chinese tourists will visit Nepal and more Nepalis will be attracted to visit China in future, “Yang Shichao said.

    Vice-General Manager of Airport Management Co. Ltd. Huang Yangfang said that there would be two direct flights a week between Changsha, capital of Hunan Province of China, and Kathmandu in near future.

    “Changsha airport is air travel transit hub airport with links to 41 regional and international destinations,” she added.

    Director General of Department of Tourism Danduraj Ghimire and former President of NATTA Dhruba Narayan Shrestha opined that the programs to be organized during Hunan culture and tourism week would help people of Nepal to get more information on various tourism attractions of Hunan of China.

    Similarly, two travel agencies of Nepal and China signed strategic cooperation agreement during celebration of Hunan culture and tourism week.

    On the occasion, embroidery, shadow puppets, woodblock painting, Anhua dark tea ceremony, Hunan videos and photos of different attractions of Hunan Province were exhibited.

    “Splendid Hunan Ultimate Experience 2019- Hunan Culture and Tourism Week in Nepal” program was hosted by Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and China Cultural Center in Nepal.

    Shaoshan in Hunan Province is hometown of Founder and great leader of People’s Republic of China – Mao Zedong.

    Hunan Province, named after its location which is to the south of Dongting Lake (Hu is ‘lake’ and Nan is ‘south’ in Chinese), covers 211,800 square kilometers with population of more than 69 million.

    Hunan, a popular destination in China, is a multiethnic province where 55 ethnic minorities live including Tujia, Miao, Dong, Yao, Bai and Hui among others.

    Hunan province is rich in tourism attractions including three world heritage sites, eight 5A and 97 4A national  tourist attractions.
