    KGH Group hotels win 6 South Asian Travel Awards

    Kathmandu – KGH Group, Nepal’s first homegrown chain of hotels, received six prestigious South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) at a ceremony held recently in Amari Galle of Sri Lanka.

    The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) has been recognizing the best of South Asia’s hospitality and travel industry since 2016. The prestigious annual event honors stellar organizations and individuals in a wide array of categories in different locations in South Asia.

    This is the KGH Group’s second time winning SATA Awards. Last year, the KGH group won 5 awards in Taj Palace, Mumbai. This year KGH Group won 6 out of 12 awards for Nepal.

    The KGH hotels –  Maya Manor Boutique Hotel ( winner category – Leading Boutique Hotel, Nepal )  , Kathmandu Guest House (Leading Heritage Hotel, Nepal ) , Waterfront Resort ( Leading Food and Beverage Resort, Nepal) ,  Himalayan Front Hotel ( Most Romantic Hotel, Nepal ) , Himalayan Front Hotel ( Best CSR Program, Nepal ) and Kathmandu Guest House(  Leading Business Hotel, Nepal) were awarded recently at SATA celebration in Sri Lanka.

    Established in 1968 the KGH group now owns 7 hotels – Kathmandu Guest House, Thamel (1968) ,  Park Village Hotel and Resort, Budhanilkantha (2001) , Waterfront Resort, Pokhara (2011) , Himalayan Front Hotel, Sarankot (2016) , Maruni Sanctuary Lodge, Chitwan (2002) , Buddha Maya Garden Hotel, Lumbini (2003) and Maya Manor Boutique Hotel, Hattisar (2016) .

    KGH Group is one of the oldest and largest hotel chains offering more than 600 rooms across top four destinations in Nepal- Kathmandu , Pokhara , Chitwan and Lumbini.

    One Globe Travels and Tourism, Temple Tree Resort and Spa, and Barahi Jungle Lodge also were winners of SATA Awards this year from Nepal.

    At a press meet held here, Founding Chairman of KGH Karna Sakya , Chairman of KGH Group Sunil Sakya and Managing Director of Waterfront Resort Diwakar Rajkarnikar reiterated their commitment to contribute for overall tourism development in the country.

    The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) event has grown significantly in terms of participation from the industry and the number of awards given out each year. The Awards now honor 37 categories in 10 segments of hospitality industry in South Asia.

    The SATA 2020 will be held in Maldives next year.
