    Fuzhou, China : The first Maritime Silk Road (Fuzhou) International Tourism Festival concluded in Fuzhou this week.

    The festival was by National Tourism Bureau, Fujian Provincial People’s Government, Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government and Fujian Provincial Tourism Bureau.

    Fuzhou is an important gateway to the Maritime Silk Road in the 21st century. The long and splendid history of the Maritime Silk Road witnessed the prosperity of Fuzhou, which was developed due to its trade at the sea.

    Recently, Fuzhou government has been actively implementing the policy of One Belt One Road. The Seas Silk Tourism Festival aimed to enhance in the connection between China and ASEAN countries and build a huge platform for tourism exchange and cooperation. Through integration of tourism resources along the Maritime Silk Road, it plans to create competitive tourist lines for the 21st century Maritime Silk Road, promote travelling in these places, and build up the mutual communication and development in Fuzhou, the platform for economic and trade cooperation, as well as the cultural exchange along the Maritime Silk Road.

    The first Maritime Silk Road (Fuzhou) International Tourism Festival inauguration ceremony was attended by nearly 700 people representing travel agencies in China and key overseas tour operators from nearly 30 countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road, such as Italy, Russia, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

    Representatives of tourism sectors from places along Domestic Maritime Silk Road and along the Hefei-Fuzhou High Speed Railway, covering Guangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo and Hefei, representatives of national top 100 travel agencies, experts in Colleges and universities and tourism enterprises also attended the festival.

    Deputy Governor of Fujian Province and Party Member of National Tourism Bureau and Director of Personnel Department, respectively made a speech for the opening ceremony and  Mayor of Fuzhou read the Fuzhou Declaration.

    Representatives from the tourism departments of nine cities along the Maritime Silk Road, including Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Yangzhou, Beihai, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and Penglai, jointly signed the Fuzhou Declaration, symbolizing the cooperation between the nine cities. They will work together to integrate the advantageous travel resource of the cities along the Maritime Silk, build a new tourism regional cooperation platform for external display, advantage complement and mutual benefit, set up the tourism brand image of Maritime Silk Road and jointly develop the Tourism Economic Zone on the 21st century Maritime Silk Road, to highlight the role of The Maritime Tourism Festival as an international platform for cooperation and development of the countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road.

    Fuzhou government will cooperate with travel associations and TV media of the cities along the Maritime Silk Road, to jointly establish the tourism and TV strategic alliance between cities along the Maritime Silk Road, to expand the cooperation, sharing, interaction and program interchange between these associations and TV media, and to open up a new mode of competition and cooperation between travel agencies and media organizations.

     About 134 international tour operators and 35 tour operators are all key customers and businessmen invited by China National Tourism Administration  attended  2015 China International Tourism Fair from various regions and countries.

    Travel agencies in Fujian provide exquisite tourism routes for domestic and foreign tour operators through this Maritime Silk Road Tourism Festival. It will further advance exchange and cooperation of the tourism industry, expand the tourism markets at home and abroad, as well as effectively introduce the pattern of Fresh and Blessed Fujian to the whole country and the world.
