    Nepal – China tourism sales mission launches promotional campaign in China

    Kathmandu: Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) launched tourism promotional programs in different cities of China urging Chinese travellers to visit Nepal.

    A 32-member Nepal- China tourism sales mission, comprising of different travel agencies, NATTA and Nepal Tourism Board officials, will participate in the 11-day promotional programs in major four cities -Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Beijing.

    Nepali travel agents and members of sales mission held a fruitful business meeting with Chinese tourism entrepreneurs in Chengdu today in the first leg of China trip.

    On the occasion, Vice Secretary General of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government Zhao Weiping, Party Secretary, Sichuan Tourism Development Commission Hu Bin and Nepal’s Ambassador to People’s Republic of China stressed on tourism cooperation between the two countries.

    The government officials assured to extend full support for the promotion of tourism of both the countries.‘Nepal is a best destination in many ways and being close neighboring country promotion of tourism is always in priority, ‘they added.

    President of NATTA Madhu Sudan  Acharya  highlighted on tourism products of Nepal. ‘Tourism is not only a business between buyer and seller but it also provides significant contribution to rapid development of the country. The money spent by tourist supports economic mobility of rural people where the tourists visit. Tourism is the one of the major driving force for economic growth of every country, ‘he said.

    More than 21 companies from Nepal, 63 companies from Sichuan province and business visitors attended B2B session and promotional program held in Chengdu, according to a statement issued by Bhim P. Pant, Secretary – General of NATTA.

    The B2B session was coordinated by NATTA officials Varun Mehta, Chitra Bahadur Gurung, and Furi Sherpa.

    A total of 104,005 Chinese tourists visited Nepal in 2016, while Nepal received 123,805 Chinese tourists in 2014 and 66,984 tourists in 2015.

    The number of Chinese outbound tourists exceeded 122 million in 2016.

    Nepal- China tourism sales mission, led by NATTA President Acharya and coordinated by Varun Mehta , hopes to lure Chinese visitors to explore Nepal  in the days ahead.
