• Nepal in JATA Fair

    Kathmandu : Nepal Tourism Board along with four participants from the Nepalese travel trade successfully participated in the JATA Tabihaku Fair 2013.

    The JATA fair ,held in Tokyo from September 12 to 15 , 2013,is a very important fair and is one of the biggest travel shows in Asia, which is dedicated to operators, provides new contents in travel, services and trainings, enhancing what is on offer for travelers with new trends and emerging destinations.

    JATA 2013 especially confirmed its role as a privileged marketplace for the tourism sector for the entire participants. About 150 countries from all around the world participated in the fair. The Fair showcased various products in tourism and gave a special platform to tour operators, travel agencies, MICE, hotel chains etc. The theme emphasized was mostly for leisure travel, gaming and sports tourism.

    According to NTB,the fair in the three days witnessed participation of nearly 120,0000 visitors and hosted workshops for more than 600 buyers. Nepals participation in JATA 2013, this year, focused on garnering support and cooperation from all travel trade fraternities, press and general public for the mission of enhancing sustainability and eco-friendly tourism image of the country.

    The visitors were very curious about the situation in Nepal and raised many questions related to security. The private companies exhibiting with NTB were also prepared with new products and packages. They focused more on new products like homestay, four wheel off-the-road drives to Mustang and Lomathan, traditional weddings for foreigners etc. Soft adventure activities like Paragliding, ultralite flights and Zip line were also promoted. There were many inquiries related to trekking and soft adventure.

    The inbound Travelers to Japan in the year 2012 was 8,358,105 whereas the Outbound Japanese Travelers in 2012 were 18,490,657 of which an approximate of around 24,321 visited Nepal.

    NTB along with the participating companies made their active participation in the JATA 2013 Fair, B2B sessions and B2C interaction at the Nepal Pavilion hall.  The participating Companies were Liberty Holidays, Malla Hotel,Yeti Travels and Nepal Airlines Corporation.

      Arabian Travel Market 2025, held under the theme “Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity”,  featured more than 200 speakers across three content stages and welcomes over 55,000 travel professionals from 166 countries.
