Nepal participates in International Travel Fairs

Kathmandu:Nepal Tourism Board, together with three private travel companies, participated in One World Travel Mort (OTM) 2012 held at the vibrant city of USA at San Francisco from 27-30 September 2012.
Nepal stall, decorated with its nature, culture, and adventure based tourism attractions, had a very appealing view for the visitors. Visit Lumbini Year 2012 was also well portrayed prominently in the booth.
The Mart was spiced with series of talk programs on vivid aspects of global tourism. NTB’s officiating CEO Subash Nirola presented Nepalese Tourism specialties, new offers, and government policies and priorities under the theme of The New Asia…..China, Vietnam, Nepal and more.
Three companies from Nepal: Asahi Treks & Expeditions, Nepal Trailblazer Trekking and Thamserku Trekking were among 120 exhibitors from around the world that took part in it.
Since USA lifted Travel Advisory against Nepal last year, there is a huge growth of American tourists coming to Nepal. Last year, 41,785 Americans visited Nepal for various purposes.
U.S. is one of the World’s Top Outbound markets with 62 million overseas travelers. Spending by U.S. outbound travelers is expected to reach USD 121 billion by 2020. The U.S. Outbound market has huge growth potential as only about 20% have traveled abroad.
Nepal participates PATA Travel Mart in Manila
PATA Travel Mart 2012 concluded with huge fanfare in the city of Manila, Philippines on 28th September, 2012. Nepal Tourism Board had set up its own stand to disseminate information about the latest offers and situation updates about Nepal’s tourism destinations. The Mart ran for 3 days beginning September 25th to 28, 2012.
More than 50 registered buyers and equal number of visitors converged for soliciting tourism information at Nepal stand. At a press meet organized to keep abreast the participating international journalist at the ongoing backdrop of the Mart on 26th September, Aditya Baral, Director and Spokesperson of NTB, highlighted about the beauties and newer products .
Lots of potential buyers at the Mart solicited information on Nepal’s newer physical infrastructural build ups mainly on the tourism sphere. Newer markets especially from posh African, Latin America and so far untouched East Asia like including Philippines showed tremendous interest to include Nepal in their future market sale.
During the Mart , the tourism authorities from Philippines and CEO of PATA headquarter, Martin Craig also visited the NTB stall and applauded for its pro-active participations in internationals fairs and events.
Nepal at JATA
The Nepal Tourism Board along with three private sector participants participated in Asia`s biggest Travel Trade Show – JATA Tourism Forum & Travel Showcase held in Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan from 20th to 23rd September 2012.
The program was held in coordination with Nepal Association of Tour operators (NATO). The Nepal delegation was led by Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Posta Bahadur Bogati.
Minister Bogati, Nepalese Ambassador to Japan Dr. Madan Kumar Bhattarai, Officiating Chief Executive Officer 0f NTB Subash Nirola represented Nepal at the inauguration of JATA .
JATA 2012 saw more than 150 countries and territories and over 700 companies and organizations take part in the four day event.
The Malla Hotel, Liberty Holidays Inc. and Shangrila Tours (P) Ltd represented the Nepalese private sector at the event.
Nepal participates in TOP RESA 2012
Likewise,Nepal Tourism Board along with three prominent Nepali travel trade companies participated at the TOP RESA International French Travel Market, one of the largest International Tourism Trade Fairs in Europe,from 18 to 21 September 2012 at Porte De Versailles, Paris, France.
TOP RESA focused all its efforts in providing the very best trade forum for destinations, business and travel intermediaries, airlines and the hospitality industry, as well as offering an innovative range of contemporary tools designed to boost the global tourism industry.
In 2011, French nationals took 23 million trips round the world and spent an overwhelming 24.6 billion Euros abroad for travel. French take an average of 30 days holidays per year and the average cost of travel package they purchase is 950 Euros. These are a few motivating indicators which contributed to bringing together more than 1200 exhibitors and brands, 160 tourist destinations and 27,752 industry professionals from around the world in the 34th edition of TOP RESA.
According to NTB, three Nepali companies Outdoor Expeditions, Nepal Dream Travel Service and Thamserku Trekking participated in the fair.Nepal Tourism Board was represented by Director Kashi Raj Bhandari, and Udaya Bhattarai.
Editor and Publisher of IMAGE NEPAL travel magazine Hari Raj Joshi also participated in Top Resa 2012 held in Paris.
