Nepal participated in TTF in Surat and Ahmedabad of India
Kathmandu : Nepal Tourism Board participated in Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) held in Surat and Ahmedabad recently .
The fair, organized by Fairfest Media Ltd. in Ahmedabad of India, was one spot Travel Bazaar where more than 300 exhibitors had participated from the countries as Dubai, China, Nepal, Switzerland, Indonesia USA and many online travel makers like make my trip.com had made their participation.
Nepal Tourism Board along with the two co-exhibitors, namely Muktinath Yatra P Ltd and Nepal Holiday Maker P Ltd, participated from Nepal.NTB officials Lila Bahadur Baniya and Santosh Bikram Thapa represented Nepal Tourism Board.
The Nepalese private travel trade participants had an opportunity to book holiday travels of the keen travelers willing to come to Nepal and open up business tie ups with several Indian outbound tour operators and individual travelers,a NTB release states.
Similarly,Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in Travel & Tourism Fair ,TTF-2012, in the fast rising city of Surat, in Gujurat held from 31 st August to 2nd September, 2012 with the aim of increasing awareness and educating the Indian traveller on Nepal’s tourism products and offerings targeting upcoming high season of Dashara and Puja Holidays in Gujruat. Nepal participated in the fair for the first time.
Commemorating this year as “Visit Lumbini Year-2012”, Nepal is all set to invite the world to work towards creating a peaceful society through Buddha’s message of peace and to make Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha a centre of global attraction.NTB and the participating company from Nepal, Muktinath Yatra, engaged in both B2B and B2C promotion during the fair.
India is the most significant market for the Nepalese tourism industry with approximately 1/3rd total market share. Indian market is important for both in terms of value and volume.Pilgrimage, Leisure, Soft Adventure Activities and Muktinath pilgrimage tour drew special attractions among the Indian visitors.
The three day fair organized in the diamond city attracted more than 10,000 visitors. 140 stalls featuring 20 Indian states along with destination countries Nepal, Maldives and Switzerland graced the fair. The fair was organized to capitalize on the growing economy of Gujarat and its rising number of affluent class.
Nepal stall succeeded in disseminating both general and specific information to the visitors. NTB won the best print promotion award, attributed to excellent combination of both content and substance. Nepal Tourism Board was represented by Jitendra Bhattarai and r Surya Thapaliya. Mutinath Yatra participated in the fair as co-exhibitor.
In 2011, Nepal received 1,45,338 tourists from India by air which is 39.1% increase as compared to 2010. In the period of Jan-July 2012 itself, Nepal received 112,165 tourists from India which is 28.3% growth compared to the same period last year.
