Nepal promoted in Moscow travel exhibition
Kathmandu : Nepal Tourism Board jointly with PATA Nepal Chapter participated in the 21st Moscow International Travel & Tourism (MITT) Exhibition 2014 in Russia.
The fair was held at Expo Centre in the capital city, Moscow from 19-22 March 2014. The MITT fair is one of the biggest travel shows in Europe, which is dedicated to operators, provides new contents in travel, services and trainings, enhancing what is in offer for travellers with new trends and emerging destinations.
MITT 2014 especially confirmed its role as a privileged marketplace for the tourism sector for the entire participants. About 85 countries from all around the world participated in the fair. The Fair had a total of 1800 exhibitors who showcased various products in tourism and gave special platform to tour operators, travel agencies, MICE, hotel chains etc. The theme emphasized was mostly for leisure travel, gaming and sports tourism.
The fair witnessed participation of nearly 100,0000 visitors and hosted workshops for more than 600 buyers.
The seven private companies focused on new products like homestays, four wheel off-the-road drives to Mustang and Lomangthan, traditional weddings for foreigners among others. Soft adventure activities like paragliding, ultralite flights, sky diving and Zip line were also promoted according to NTB release.
Discussions were held with the Non Residential Nepalese (NRN) in Russia to promote tourism between Nepal and Russia..
Russia is a very potential market with 10 million Russians travelling worldwide and nearly 10,000 tourists visit Nepal.
