• New Branding Director for Dusit International

    Bangkok – Dusit International has announced the appointment of 35 year-old Gerrit Kruger as its new Director of Branding, effective immediately.
    A German national, Mr Kruger brings more than a decade of management and marketing experience to his new position which also includes the role of acting Loyalty Marketing Director overseeing all loyalty programmes and partnerships.

    Prior to joining Dusit International, Gerrit was based in Germany managing a boutique marketing agency. He spent eight years residing in Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand working with international companies in senior marketing and brand positions. Gerrit’s tourism experience includes a two and a half year stint as a management associate with the Singapore Tourism Board.

    Gerrit is tasked with strengthening the four Dusit International brands globally, namely Dusit Thani, dusitD2, Dusit Princess, and Dusit Devarana, during this period of rapid expansion for the Group.

    Gerrit studied Marketing and Tourism at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore, and subsequently graduated from the International University in Germany with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

    Dusit International has more than 60 years’ experience in the hotel and hospitality field. Founded in 1949 by Honorary Chairperson Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui, whose first hotel was the Princess on Bangkok’s New Road, Dusit International has since acquired a unique portfolio of distinctive hotels, building upon Thai culture and tradition to create a personalized welcome for all guests made distinctive under the Dusit International brand promise; the delivery of an ‘experience that enlivens the individual spirit, no matter the journey’.

    Dusit International comprises four hotel brands: Dusit Thani, dusitD2, Dusit Princess, and Dusit Devarana. It also operates Dusit Residences and its own signature Devarana Spa.

      Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030 aims for 39.3 million visitors per year, while Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 targets 150 million domestic and international visits, emphasising how tourism is being established as a key element of economic diversification throughout the region.

      At Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, industry leaders emphasised that sustainable revitalisation of destinations must align tourism investments with community partnerships, cultural authenticity, and immersive guest experiences to provide lasting value for both residents and visitors.

      During the session on “Considerations and Implications of Involving Communities in Destination Revitalisation” on the ATM 2025 Global Stage, experts shared insights into building resilience, enhancing local prosperity, and ensuring tourism growth is both inclusive and enduring.

      Arabian Travel Market 2025, held under the theme “Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity”,  featured more than 200 speakers across three content stages and welcomes over 55,000 travel professionals from 166 countries.
