    Kathmandu: Experts and top officials representing different travel tourism related organizations of China have called for more tourism cooperation between China and Nepal in a Nihao ! China Tourism Promotion Program held here on Wednesday (December 4 ).

    Nihao ! China Tourism Promotion Program was jointly organized by China National Tourist Office (CNTO) , Air China , China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines .

    On the occasion, Xiao Jiang, Director of China Cultural Center in Nepal and CNTO, stressed on more tourism cooperation between Nepal and China.“ As both the countries will mark 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025 and  China has declared 2025 as Nepal Visit Year , more achievements will  be  seen in expanding friendship  and tourism cooperation in future , “she added.   

    CCC Nepal Director Jiang emphasized on bilateral cooperation in culture, tourism and people-to- people exchange sectors.

    Similarly, General   Manager of Air China Kathmandu Office Zhang  Xuesong , General   Manager of China Southern Airlines Kathmandu Office Yang Wenfu , General   Manager of China Eastern Airlines Kathmandu Office  Zhang  Yi , General   Manager of Guangxi Guangda Tourism Investment Company Fu Weihua and General Manager of Sichuan Mingyan International Travel Agency Zhang Tao shared information on different aspects of Chinese tourism and  their activities to promote travel and tourism between the two countries.

    Mohan Prasad Suwal of China National Tourist Office shared information on China’s natural attractions, Chinese cuisine, cultural heritages and unique tourism products under theme of ‘Beautiful China – Beyond Your Imagination”.

    Themed as “Nihao! China,” which means “Hello, China,” the tourism promotional campaign designed to showcase the diverse landscapes, cultural treasures and Chinese destinations are launched in different parts of the world this year.

    With a rich history and culture spanning over 5,000 years, China offers a diverse range of experiences. to the tourists visiting the country.China welcomed 82.03 million inbound tourists, while domestic residents made 100.96 million outbound trips in 2023.

    China has recovered its position as top spender on international tourism in 2023 as Asia and the Pacific. Chinese expenditure on travel abroad reached USD 196.5 billion in 2023, ahead of the United States (USD 150 billion), Germany (USD 112 billion), the United Kingdom (USD 110 billion) and France (USD 49 billion), according to UN Tourism .

    China has become the biggest domestic tourism market in the world, the largest source of international tourists, and a main destination for international travelers.
