PATA Destination Marketing Forum

Bangkok : PATA Destination Marketing Forum 2019 (PDMF 2019) will be held in Pattaya, Thailand in November next year.
The announcement was made by PATA CEO Dr. Mario Hardy at the conclusion of the PATA Destination Marketing Forum 2018 (PDMF 2018) held in Khon Kaen, Thailand.
PDMF 2019 will be hosted by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) with the support of Pattaya City.
Earlier, PATA Destination Marketing Forum 2018 (PDMF 2018) concluded in Khon Kaen , Thailand attracting 290 delegates from 25 destinations. The theme of the PDMF was“Growth with Goals’.
The event, hosted by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) with the support of Khon Kaen Province, brought together delegates from the public and private sectors for discussions on some of the major issues in marketing and managing tourism growth to lesser-known destinations., according to a PATA statement.
Delegates from Australia, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Palau, The Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, USA and Vietnam are participating in the PDMF.
The topics discussed during the conference include the ‘Status of Destination Management Around the World’, ‘The Role of Local Experiences in Destination Marketing’, ‘Managing the Disconnect between Destination Organisations and Communities’, ‘Transborder Marketing: Case Studies of GMS’, ‘Fighting Under-tourism Through Innovative Storytelling’, ‘Calculating our Impact as Destinations’, and ‘Leveraging Technology to Revolutionize the Travel Space’.
