Travel Biz News —
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is set to organise PATA Travel Mart 2023 in New Delhi, India from October 4-6. The event will be hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
The announcement was first made by Arvind Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India on March 7 at India Night during ITB Berlin.
“After a hiatus of three years due to the pandemic, we are extremely delighted to be organising PATA Travel Mart 2023 in person in India, particularly since the country will be hosting the G20 Summit later this year. India is proving to be an important market in the recovery of travel and tourism within the Asia Pacific region and with its many initiatives in sustainable and inclusive tourism activities, it has the potential to be a preferred tourism destination, loved by both global and domestic tourists,” said PATA Chair Peter Semone.
‘One of the oldest civilisations in the world, India is a mosaic of multicultural experiences. With rich heritage and myriad attractions, the country is among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Fringed by the Great Himalayas in the north, it stretches southwards and at the Tropic of Cancer, tapers off into the Indian Ocean between the Bay of Bengal on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west,’ according to a release issued by PATA international in Bangkok today.
Thousands of travel professionals belong to the 32 local PATA Chapters worldwide, while hundreds of students are members of the 28 PATA Student Chapters globally.
