    Kathmandu – A photography exhibition of Chinese rural villages with the theme of “Charm of heaven and earth “kicked off here amidst a program on Tuesday.

    The exhibition, organized by China Cultural Center in Nepal, Network of International Culturalink Entities, China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd. and China Eco-Culture Association in support of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nepal, offers Nepalis an opportunity to gain an insight into the beautiful rural parts of China.

    “The exhibition has given an opportunity to the Nepali people to understand and have depth knowledge on Chinese rural areas, ethnic community and rich culture of Chinese people, “Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts Kanchha Kumar Karmacharya said during inauguration ceremony of the exhibition.

    On the occasion, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Nepal  Ci Dan Bai Mu said that bilateral relations have strengthened in recent years through cultural activities and exchanges between the two countries.

    Similarly, Han Yan Xiang of China Arts and Entertainment Group said that China’s initiatives to preserve natural and cultural heritages is highly evaluated all over the world.

    More than 47 per cent of the people live in rural parts of China. There are around one million villages in China, about one third of the world’s total.

    China has 34 provincial-level administrative units including 23 provinces, 4 municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chongqing), 5 autonomous regions (Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Ningxia, Xinjiang) and 2 special administrative regions (Hong Kong, Macau).

    People from various walks of life including photographers, artists and students visited the exhibition today.

    More than 100 photographs depicting natural landscapes, beautiful sceneries, rural life, ethnic community and cultural heritages of China are exhibited in the 4- day long exhibition at Nepal Art Council.
