Tourism promotion in Russia, Czech
Kathmandu :Nepal Tourism Board successfully concluded three-city Road Show in Prague- Czech Republic, Moscow and St. Petersburg – Russia on March 13, 14 and 16 respectively with the aim of increasing awareness and educating the Czech and Russian Travelers on Nepal’s tourism attractions.
The programmes in all three cities were designed on NTB destination presentation and Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions, according to Nepal Tourism Board.
The B2B session of the programme was dedicated to trade workshop where Nepalese Tour Operators and Czech and Russian Travel Trade had one-to-one interaction and business dealings.
The travel trade from all the cities had extensive deliberation with the Nepalese tour operators which helped towards enhancing the existing business, forging new alliances and expanding Nepal’s presence in the new and emerging European markets.
A presentation on Destination Nepal was made for both the press and trade on the occasion by Aditya Baral, Director of Nepal Tourism Board.
Russian travelers are the world’s top spenders. With an increase of Russian tourists in Nepal by 109 per cent in 2010 compared to 2009 and 33 per cent increase in 2011 compared to 2010, this holds an immense potential for Nepalese travel tourism industry.
With an ever increasing travel trend of Czech people and an increase of Czech tourists in Nepal by 116 per cent in the year 2010 compared to 2009 and increase of 40 per cent in 2011 compared to the year 2010, Czech market also holds a promising prospect for Nepalese travel tourism industry.
Coinciding with ‘Visit Lumbini Year 2012’, the road show focused on strengthening the position of Lumbini as the centre of global peace and helped place Lumbini among the Czech and Russian travelers as the centre of Buddhist pilgrimage.
Nepal Road Show was attended by around 50 outbound travel agents and some media in Prague, about 100 Russian travel trade companies and some media in Moscow and 60 Russian travel trade companies and media in St. Petersburg.
