Sudan,St.Louis,WATA and Ghana join ICTP

Hawaii – The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) announced the World Association of Travel Agencies (WATA) from Switerland has joined the alliance as a partner association.
Christine Fournier, General Secretary of the World Association of Travel Agencies, said they are proud to become a member of the International Council of Tourism Partners. Founded in 1949 in Switzerland, WATA is a nonprofit organization registered in Switzerland.
WATA has positioned itself as a truly respected name in the travel industry and is the leading association grouping of Inbound Travel Agencies in the leisure (tourism) segment of the industry.
WATA membership is given on an exclusivity basis, per country or region. Presently, WATA has 45 exclusive members in 30 countries and has opened a category of preferred suppliers in additional countries, with concrete plans to extend the network on both membership levels extensively.
Similarly, Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has joined the the ICTC as a destination member.The Ghana Tourism Authority was established as the main implemeting body of the Ministry of Tourism, replacing the Ghana Tourist Board.
The Ghana Tourism Authority envisions Ghana becoming the tourism capital of West Africa, especially in culture, heritage, ecotourism, as well as conference tourism in a quality non-mass manner.
Nature is important to Ghana and a conservation program strives to protect this heritage, to enable visitors to enjoy it and to enable Ghanaians to pass it on to future generations. Ghana has a rich natural treasure made up of 16 national parks, resource reserves, and wildlife sanctuaries, which are open throughout the year. From the savannah of the coastal plains, the dense tropical forest, and the grassland of the north, to the life-giving water bodies, which crisscross the country, distinct wildlife abounds in Ghana.
Similarly,The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) announced that the Ministry of Tourism & Wildlife has become the first destination member from the Sudan.
Sudan’s Ministry of Tourism & Wildlife performs its activities in integration with several units, consisting of a central ministry, wildlife preservation department, tourism police forces department and international Sudanese tourism company.
The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) welcomed the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission of Missouri to its ever-growing roster of destination members.The Gateway City has plenty to offer its visitors with fun, family-friendly activities, great entertainment venues, an exciting nightlife, and exceptional meeting venues. Located at the crossroads of America, the St. Louis region has enjoyed influences from numerous races and nationalities. Early immigrants included settlers from Germany, Italy, Ireland, and Poland, and today’s population includes new arrivals from Bosnia, Ethiopia, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and throughout Europe.
ICTP President Professor Lipman and Chairman Juergen T. Steinmetz welcomed the WATA, Ghana Tourism Authority ,Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife of Sudan and St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission of Missouri in the international organization.-TBN
