Nepal participates in Travel & Tourism Fair ( TTF )

Kolkata: The 96th edition of Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) concluded in Kolkata with a commitment to promote tourism in the region.
Travel trade professionals and media representatives of Bangladesh, Denmark, Dubai, Egypt,India, Kenya, Mauritius, Maldives, Nepal and Thailand participated in the event .
The 27 participating states from India included West Bengal ,Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Punjab and Maharashtra. Travel trade professionals from regions of Andaman & Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Haryana, Lakshwadeep, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh also attended the TTF 2012.
Besides state and national tourism organisations, the participants were from a large number of hotels, resorts, travel agents, tour operators, cruise lines, railways and travel portals among like outfits.
Acccording to a press release of Nepal Tourism Board, travel trade professionals from Nepal including NTB participated in the fair.The TTF was organized targeting upcoming Dussera and Puja Festival holiday season in West Bengal. TTF 2012, Kolkata was an one spot Travel Bazaar where tour operators could explore newer tourism products, establish new business linkages and sell their tour packages to the keen Bengali travelers.
Nepal Stall, featuring pilgrimage, natural, cultural and adventure attractions, received a huge response of both Bengali travellers and tour operators during the three day fair. The Nepalese private travel trade participants had an opportunity to book holiday travels of the keen Bengali travelers willing to go to Nepal and opened up business tie ups with several Indian outbound tour operators.
Hari Raj Joshi, editor and publisher of Image Nepal travel magazine, said that package tour programmes should be developed to attract more tourists to Nepal from West Bengal and South India.Most of the visitors in TTF, Kolkata were interested to get in-depth information on Nepal.
Travel &. Tourism Fair (TTF) was organized by Fairfest Media Ltd. at Netaji Indore Stadium, Kolkata from 13-15 July 2012.
