    Himalaya Airlines extends its network to Dhaka

    Kathmandu – Himalaya Airlines commenced thrice-weekly flights to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) today.

    The airline will operate its A320-214 series of Airbus aircraft with a capacity of 150 economy class seats and eight premium economy class seats.

    The Airlines, which has a fleet of three new Airbus 320-200, started its direct flight in the route to facilitate the influx of Bangladeshi tourists visiting Nepal.

    Himalayan Airline is currently operating regular flights to Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia.

    Himalaya Airlines Vice-President Vijaya Shrestha expressed happiness for being able to expand air services in Bangladesh having prospects of tourism.

    A total of 10,590 Bangladeshi tourists visited Nepal in the first six months of 2019.

    A total of 26,255 Bangladeshi tourists visited Nepal in 2018 while the number of Bangladeshi tourists visiting Nepal in 2017 stood at 29,060, according to Nepal Tourism Board.

    Besides Bangladeshi tourists travelling to Nepal ,there are a large number of Nepali students studying in different universities of Bangladesh .

    The airline has appointed Sair Air BD Ltd as its general sales agent in Dhaka.

    Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China joint venture established in August 2014, , is a private airline in the country providing international air services after Nepal airlines Corporation.

    Dhaka , capital city of Bangladesh, is now one of the most densely industrialized and a major financial center in the region, being home to many local and international companies.
