    Whether it’s catching a game at the London Olympics, falling in love with Shakespeare again or celebrating the end of days in Mexico, 2012 promises to be a bumper year for travel.

    London is set to host the Olympic Games from 27 July to 12 August, during this period the city will be buzzing with excitement throughout three designated zones within greater London: the Olympic Zone, the River Zone and the Central Zone, news.com reported.

    Also part of the ‘World Shakespeare Festival’, lovers of all things Shakespeare should visit the Shakespeare exhibition at the British Museum. The exhibition will include prints, maps, drawings, paintings and more.

    North of this, Ireland will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the legendary Titanic sinking with the opening of a new museum in April. The new attraction will feature a ride that transports visitors on a tour of the shipyard as it was when it was build in 1911 with never before seen images.

    History enthusiasts can board a voyage on a memorial cruise on Fred Olsen’s Line’s Balmoral and sail to the location where the ship hit an iceberg.
    Back in the southern hemisphere, the Cairns solar eclipse is set to cross the top of Queensland and the Coral Sea on 14 November, some of the worlds’ best DJ’s and producers will be visiting for the event.

    On the pitch, The 2012 UEFA European Football Championships will be held in Poland and Ukraine between 08 June and 01 July a must for all sporting enthusiasts.

    Netherlands will be in full bloom this year with the Floriade from 05 April until 07 October.
    For the ‘foodies’, undoubtedly the highlight event of the year will be the Brusselicious Festival which runs from September six to nine.
    And in the eve of the latest James Bond movie Skyfall, Bond fans can head to the Beaulieu Motor Museum in South England from 17 January until December where fifty of the most iconic James Bond cars will be on display.

    Lastly, celebrate the ‘end of days’ with the Mayans in Mexico with over 50 million other people who are expected to travel to Mexico for the event on 21 December 2012.

      Arabian Travel Market 2025, held under the theme “Global Travel: Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism Through Enhanced Connectivity”,  featured more than 200 speakers across three content stages and welcomes over 55,000 travel professionals from 166 countries.
