JATA Tourism EXPO to promote overseas and inbound travel

Tokyo : The Japan Travel and Tourism Association (JTTA) and Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) will launch the second annual JATA Tourism Expo Japan 2015 from September 24 through 27, 2015, at Tokyo Big Sight.
JATA Tourism EXPO Japan is designed to promote tourism both overseas and inbound to Japan, as well as domestic tourism within the country. It sees the tourism industrypartnering with other sectors and regions in a nationwide effort to host the world’s largesttourism-related event.
The first step in this direction was the 2014 goal of “A new journey.”
“This year, in addition to the JAPAN NIGHT 2015, a city-based MICE event hosted out ofMarunouchi, we have the first International Tourism Leaders Meeting, which focuses on theASEAN region. We have also launched the Japan Tourism Award, which is conferred on
organizations and individuals that have made notable contributions to the growth anddevelopment of the tourism industry,” the official said.
The expo will bring together domestic and global tourism information in one place, promotions in advance of the opening of the new Hokkaido bullet train line, and a gourmet project featuring popularrice bowl dishes from throughout Japan. Other must-see events include special exhibits
from central Asian countries.
In addition, the international tourism forum will be an opportunity to discuss issues of“Tourism and Culture” and explore Japan’s mission in the global tourism space. Being heldconcurrently with the EXPO are the VISIT Japan Travel Mart (VJTM) and VISIT Japan MICEMart (VJMM), held by the Japan National Tourism Organization.
The topic for International Tourism Forum is “Tourism and Culture.” For the Keynote Speech, Former WTO secretary and President of the World Committee on Tourism Ethics, itself an organ of the UNWTO, Mr. Pascal Lamy, will deliver keynote address.
In addition to exchanging opinions and the latest tourism information from the overseas,domestic, and inbound sectors in the regular symposium, the Asia Travel Market Analysis 2015 takes a look at Asia’s major tourist destinations.The International Tourism Leaders Meeting is a new event this year that focuses on the ASEAN region.
In addition to experts on ASEAN and Japanese policy, regional issues, hospitality, tourism, and transport, leaders from the private and public sector will join us for a discussion on sundry topics as we ramp up to the International Tourism Leaders Summit, which would see the world’s tourism leaders convening (jointly sponsored by the ASEAN- Japan Centre).
With suppliers from within and without Japan and travel agents taking part, the expo will be an opportunity to hold business talks on outbound and domestic business according to JATA .
