Nepal promoted in South Korea
KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board in collaboration with Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO), Cathay Pacific, Dragon Air and Cathay Holidays organised the Korea Sales Mission 2012 in Seoul Press Center in Seoul and Lotte Hotel in Busan on 9th and 10th May respectively. The Nepalese private sectors Shangri-La Tours, Amravati Travels Pvt. Ltd and C&K Nepal Travel and Tours participated in the Sales Mission.
Korea, having more than 10 million inbound/outbound tourists is gradually becoming a promising potential market for Nepal.The Sales Mission program was an ideal platform for exchange of new ideas, new market segments and to showcase diverse tourism products and services to increase prospective travellers. The program at both the cities were highlighted with a presentation on Nepal by Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer, Director, NTB followed by questions and answers from the potential buyers.
According to a press release of NTB ,the participants made queries regarding the Nepal Government campaign Visit Lumbini Year 2012, its programs, immigration formalities and visa procedures, and easy accessibility to Lumbini. The need of promotional materials in Korean language was another major issue discussed in the program.
The B2B session, followed next was very participatory. The interaction between Nepal/Korea business participants was optimistic in seeing the visitor numbers surge in the coming days.The Sales Mission led by Mr. Ayer was participated by Ms. Ranu Shah and Ms. Janaki Upadhyay of NTB.
