    Brunei, Aug.3 :The Orchid Garden Hotel has been designated a Preferred Hotel of the Royal Trophy – Europe vs Asia Golf Championship to be held on 14-16 December 2012 in the Sultanate of Brunei.

Eight-time European Tour Order of Merit champion and one of the world’s most successful golfers in history, Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie OBE, is the first player nominated for the European defense of the Royal Trophy.

    The prestigious and highly-competitive team match-play Continental Championship will once again feature eight players and a captain representing the Asian and European Continents respectively in a series of sixteen foursomes, four-ball and singles matches.

    The sixth edition of the Royal Trophy, to be held on 14-16 December, will be played as a tribute to the late legendary Seve Ballesteros, who led the Europeans to victory at the two inaugural editions of the Competition.
